What are Rubber Compounds?

Rubber compounding or formulation refers to the addition of certain chemicals to raw rubber in order to obtain the desired properties. The well-known chemicals are cross-linking agents, reinforcements, anti degradants and colorants. The manufacturing technologies of these types of compounds are the traditional compression and injection moulding, extrusion, calendering and coating processes.

Uses of Rubber Compounds — NBR, EPDM, ACM, FKM, FFKM, HNBR, ECO, AEM, VMQ, FVMQ

Rubber Compounds are used to manufacture o‐rings, bellows, membranes, frames, connectors, hoses and pipes, anti-vibration components, mats, belts and tapes, rolls, rubber textiles, etc.
